    Professional Bio: The director of South Nassau's highly respected Breast Services program, Dr. Hodyl completed her post-graduate training at Maimonides Medical Center and Lutheran Medical Center. She conducted research at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and has been a pioneer in the development of teaching programs in surgery. She developed the surgical residency program at Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY and has been the director of the program since its inception. Dr. Hodyl recently held the position of Director of Breast Services at Nassau University Medical Center and now brings to South Nassau her interest in oncoplastic techniques in breast surgery. She is fluent in Polish.

    Dr. Hodyl is recognized for her expertise in breast health and treatment of breast cancer. She has extensive training in breast ultrasound and oncoplastic surgery. Dr. Hodyl completed her residency training and a research fellowship at two of the New York metro area’s most prestigious hospitals. She was a surgical resident at Maimonides Medical Center (Brooklyn, NY) from 1993-99 and conducted research at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (New York, NY) from 1995-97. She served as the Hospital’s Cancer Liaison Physician to the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Commission on Cancer (CoC). Cancer Liaison Physicians are an integral part of cancer programs accredited by the ACS.

    A fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr. Hodyl earned a bachelor degree at Adelphi University in 1988 and Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine at New York Institute of Technology in 1992. She is active in research and has been published in The Journal of Surgical Research and Journal of Interferon and Cytokine Research. She is a member of numerous medical professional organizations, including the American Society of Breast Surgeons and American College of Osteopathic Surgeons.
